Church History – Old Circuit Plan

Motto for 1930 – “We Preach Christ” oldchurch0001Preachers’ Appointments, an early version of the circuit plan.

This is from the 1930’s for the Primitive Methodist Circuit of that time. Circuit churches – Hinckley, Earl Shilton, Barlstone, Barwell, Newbold Verdon, Stapleton, Stoke Golding and Sutton Cheney. Each Church has a Society Steward and in most cases, an Assistant. I shall investigate these names later. Services – Sunday morning & evening, Sunday schools, midweek services, Ladies Guild and C.E. is probably Christian Endeavour. The  numbers refer to the right hand column numbers against names. 1. Frank Collen – preacher 1909-42 3. William Bird – 1874-1943 14. Frederick George Hartshorn (1885-1960) – my Granddad.
